Jermaine Dupri Addresses ‘Fumbling' Janet Jackson: ‘Y'all Don't Say She Fumbled Me'

Jermaine Dupri doesn’t believe he fumbled ex-fianceé Janet Jackson, and claims to be unaware about what it means to fumble someone. During a recent conversation with Hot 97’s Nessa, the So So Def founder was speaking on his notorious 2009 split from the songstress and admitted, “I don’t know what a fumble is, though. I be trying to figure out why y’all don’t say she fumbled me.” The 52-year-old added, “I’m not something that you just let roll down the street. I don’t look at it like that. I look at it like it’s a relationship, and we were together for eight years. ”This isn’t the first instance of JD joking about fumbling Jackson. In June 2024, he posed a question about audience demographics as it relates to concert ticket sales. In response, one person tweeted, “Jermaine we not answering questions from anyone that fumbled Janet Jackson. Dupri quickly commented, “Whew whew you just said something Dupri clarified this misconception that he had nothing to offer in their relationship. “What do you do for a woman that financially got it all, JD says, “The thing about our relationship which is so funny is like when n***as speak about her, they don’t speak about me. I’m a n***a that got it all too […] I ain’t have what she got. I might not have as much as she got, but I got my s**t and I ain’t gotta ask you for nothing. ”Jackson opened up about their relationship in her 2022 eponymous documentary. She wanted to marry him and start a family, but he was allegedly cheating on her. In the four-part series, Dupri confessed to being “reckless” for not properly managing the newfound attention he got from dating Jackson. “Girls wanted to talk to me more because I was dating her, which was really weird and I was a man,” he stated. Ultimately, their breakup was seemingly caused by the absence of emotional availability.
