JAYZ'S MADE IN AMERICA SHOW COMES TO NEW YORK THIS SUMMER!

Jay Z’s Made In America festival will forgo returning to Los Angeles for a second year, this summer. Instead, it will move to NYC, taking place at Liberty Island, featuring a headlining performance by Mary J. Blige, according to a since-deleted report from Billboard. The concert series will still be headquartered in Philadelphia where the main show will take place September 5 and 6.

Last year, organizers tried expanding the show to the West Coast with mixed reviews. For one, the LA show costs taxpayers $170,000 to cover expenses associated with the two-day music event held this August at Grand Park. So there were questions whether the event would get a part dos in the City of Angels. Apparently, now we have our answer.

“This is not at all a stepping back—this is a reevaluation of the model of going from one location to two to three,” a Budweiser executive told Billboard. “We’re a very ambitious brand, and we have a very ambitious partner in Jay Z, who also dreams big. And we always want to do big, bold things with music under the moniker of Budweiser Made In America.”

MIA fest is always star-studded. Last year’s LA edition featured Kendrick Lamar who brought out his TDE running mates and a performance from Kanye West. Jay and Bey were even on hand taking in the action.
