Jaylen Brown is embracing his hair loss the Boston Celtics player announced that he’s partnering with Nutrafol, a vitamin that promotes hair growth. “I know y’all caught that little hair situation on social media,” Brown said in an Instagram reel. “Y’all even caught me calling the GOAT, tryna get some real advice. “At some point, you start to notice all the little things. For me, my hair started to thin out a bit,” he continued. “Being a professional athlete, you always gotta perform under the bright lights. Everything is magnified. Appearance, the way you walk, the way you talk—everything. This is why I’m excited to start my Nutrafol hair growth journey. In the fall, the 29-year-old made headlines for his hair loss. During an October game against the New York Knicks, Brown’s hairline rubbed off on opposing player OG Anunoby Jr. The same thing happened in November, when the Celtics faced the Washington Wizards, with Brown leaving a mark on opposing player, Kyshawn George. A few days after the first incident, Jaylen phoned a friend. During a live stream, he called LeBron James and left a voicemail, genuinely asking James—who’s had his own hair loss issues—whether he should travel to Turkey for a hair transplant. “Bron, it’s little bro,” Brown said in the voicemail. “Call me back. We got some real shit to talk about. Code red, my n***a. Code red. They done caught me slipping. I need to know, Turkey or no Turkey? And I ain’t talking ‘bout no cheese sandwich. This some real shit, bro. Call your little bro back. Put all that other shit in the past. Brown further explained why he's partnered with Nutrafol, revealing that he started experiencing “hair issues” one or two years ago. At that point, he stopped braiding his hair and cut it, but he saw that the stress of a “pressurized environment” was still causing hair loss. and So his barber started using “sprays and things like that” to enhance his hairline, not thinking it would rub off while Brown was playing. “I was a little bit embarrassed. And then I got mad at myself for being embarrassed at all,” Brown said of his hairline leaving a mark on his opposing players. “After a while, it was like, ‘Those dudes should be grateful,’” he added. “They're lucky that I left my mark on them. I should get a thank you card: You have the residue of a champion on you. You're welcome.
