Jay-Z is giving Rocawear some much needed face time.
The 42 year-old rapper and entrepreneur will star in the company’s first-ever television ad campaign in order to boost sales, reports Usmagazine.com.
The ad, which tells the story of the rapper’s rise from the Marcy projects to Madison Square Garden, will air on MTV, BET and during NBA basketball games, reports Women’s Wear Daily.
The brand is also attempting an expansion into children’s clothing.
The hip-hop clothing line has been hit hard by the fragile economy, bleeding over $500 million in globa l sales.
Rocawear recently shed 28 of 56 employees from its New York offices, according to WWD.
