JAY-Z Says Dismissed Rape Case Cost His Company $20M In Annual Deals

JAY-Z revealed the financial impact of the now-dismissing rape case led by attorney Tony Buzbee. In a statement after the dismissal, Hov revealed he lost out on deals that would bring in $20M per year. “Immediately after Mr. Buzbee went public with his false accusations, my company Roc Nation lost contracts in the sports and entertainment space that would have generated revenues of approximately $20 million per year,” Hov wrote in a countersuit filed after the dismissal. A lawsuit against JAY-Z and Diddy, accusing the two of the rape of a 13-year-old girl, was dropped. JAY-Z released a statement against the “appalling allegations,” his lawyer, Alex Spiro, confirmed that HOV hadn’t paid any money in the dismissal. The case cannot be re-filed. “The false case against Jay-Z, that never should have been brought, has been dismissed with prejudice, By standing up in the face of heinous and false allegations, Jay has done what few can—he pushed back, he never settled, he never paid one red penny, he triumphed and cleared his name.
