Jay-Z Begged Beyoncé Not To Leave Him

Just because Jay-Z used to be big pimpin’ doesn’t mean he’s too proud to beg.

The rapper revealed in a new “Footnotes of ‘4:44′” video on Tidal that he had to plead with wife Beyoncé not to leave him alone during a vacation together.

“This is my real life. I just ran into this place and we built this big, beautiful mansion of a relationship that wasn’t totally built on the 100-percent truth and it starts cracking. Things start happening that the public can see,” he told a room of celebrity friends, including Chris Rock, Aziz Ansari, Will Smith, Meek Mill, Jesse Williams and Mahershala Ali.

Hov, 47, described one particular incident in which he “partied too much” and then realized his marriage was truly in trouble.

“I was on a boat, and I had the best time. I was like, ‘Man, this is great.’ Then she had to leave,” he said of Bey, 35. “I was, like, crushed. ‘Man, I don’t even feel like this. What is happening to my body right now?’ I was like, ‘Don’t go.’ I was, like, ‘Did I just say’ … all this is new for me. ‘Don’t leave’?”

It was then that he realized the couple’s marriage was in need of some serious fixing.

“Then we had to get to a point of, ‘Okay, tear this down and let’s start from the beginning’ … It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done,” he recalled.

And fortunately for Hova, the “Sorry” singer eventually reconciled with him.

“We just got to a place where, in order for this to work, this can’t be fake. Not one ounce,” he said. “I’m not saying it wasn’t uncomfortable because obviously it was. But because we’d been doing it for so long, it was less uncomfortable.”
