Looking to get into an Empire State of Mind this holiday season? Jay Z and Barneys can help.
The Brooklyn-born music mogul has teamed up with the luxury retailer for a seasonal spectacular entitled "A New York Holiday."
The collaboration includes a collection of limited-edition designer goods, an interactive window display and an "immersive gallery space" on the third floor of the Barneys New York flagship store on Madison Avenue in New York.
Designers such as Balenciaga, Balmain and Lanvin contributed to the collection, which works with a palette of black, white, gold and silver. Pricey pieces like a Shawn Carter by Hublot watch with alligator straps ($33,900) and a men's raincoat with gold snaps by Alexander Stutterheim ($675) will be available.
So far, the cheapest item is a $70 cotton T-shirt.
A quarter of sales will go to Jay-Z's Shawn Carter Foundation, which awards college scholarships to low-income students, according to a release.
While Lady Gaga's whimsical floor-wide spread in 2011 was named "Gaga's Worshop," Jay Z's will be called "BNY SCC Gallery," which stands for "Barneys New York" and "Shawn Corey Carter."
The windows of the Madison Avenue store will host an interactive display that incorporates video mapping, LED lights and projection.
Jay Z said in a statement that the project drew inspiration from "the slickness, energy, and innovation of New York City."
The collection, as well as the window display, will be revealed on Nov. 20.
Can't get to New York? The pieces will also be sold on Barneys.com and at the Barneys New York flagship stores in Boston, Chicago, Beverly Hills and San Francisco.
