Jay-Z and Beyoncé have dropped $26 million on a Hamptons mansion in one of the East End’s most exclusive enclaves.
Page Six has confirmed that the superstar duo bought a sprawling, 12,000-square-foot home on East Hampton’s exclusive Georgica Pond.
The property at 81 Briar Patch Road is called the Pond House and has been on the market for eight years. It first hit the market in 2009 for $39.5 million. From that point forward, it underwent several price cuts, eventually dropping to $28.99 million in 2013. Neighbors include billionaire Ronald Perelman, Steven Spielberg and Martha Stewart.
Bey and Jay’s new seven-bedroom property sits on 2 acres and has 203 feet of Georgica Pond frontage. It was expanded and renovated by builder Jeffrey Collé, who worked on it for three years.
Interior touches include hand-carved heated marble tubs, white oak paneling and carved stone fireplaces. Outside, the new owner gets a pond-fronting infinity-edge pool and spa, an outdoor dining space and a wraparound terrace.
A detached 1,800-square-foot guest cottage boasts a living room, a kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom.
Sources tell Page Six that Jay and Bey have been searching for a Hamptons pad for some time after previously staying out East in homes of their famous friends, including Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The sale went down last week, when the couple were spotted at art fair the Bridge, an art fair held at the Hamptons golf club of the same name. Jay and Bey were photographed making their way around on a golf cart, as they picked out art for their new home.
Galleries offering works of art including those by Richard Prince and Chris Martin included Marlborough Contemporary, David Zwirner, Mitchell-Innes & Nash, and David Kordansky.
