Fans hoping to see Jay-Z and Alicia Keys perform at Wednesday's World Series opener will have to instead settle for A-Rod and Derek Jeter.
Major League Baseball announced Tuesday night the pregame performance by Jay-Z and Keys of the song "Empire State of Mind," originally scheduled for tonight, will now be held before Thursday's Game 2, citing the threat of rain as the reason for the move.
"Staging for the performance could adversely impact the field if it is wet, creating damaged and unsafe playing conditions," MLB said in a statement.
