Furious Janet Jackson ticketholders no longer have a reason to “Scream.”
The Grammy winner confirmed Saturday that her “Unbreakable” world tour — which she abruptly tabled this week in favor of family planning — would resume next year, with existing tickets honored and refunds available.
“The Janet Jackson Unbreakable tour in North America will be postponed until 2017,” a LiveNation rep told Us Weekly in a story Jackson shared on her Facebook and Twitter accounts.
“New dates will be announced at a later time, and tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates. Refunds are also available at the point of purchase.”
A previous report indicated ticketholders had received a Ticketmaster email Thursday stating they wouldn’t receive refunds unless the tour — at that point postponed indefinitely — was canceled.
Jackson, 49, announced in a two-minute Twitter video Wednesday morning that she and her 41-year-old Qatari billionaire husband, Wissam Al Mana, were planning their family.
“Please, if you can, try to understand that it's important that I do this now,” she said in a two-minute video posted to Twitter. “I have to rest up — doctor’s orders. But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can.”
She did not elaborate on her “family planning” or share the options she and Al Mana, whom she married in 2012, were exploring.
