Janet Jackson Pregnant With First Child At 49

How about a new baby.

That’s the way love goes for superstar singer Janet Jackson, who is pregnant with her first child just two weeks shy of her 50th birthday, according to ET.

The “Rhythm Nation” singer announced last month that she would be postponing her “Unbreakable” tour, which began in August 2015, to plan her family with her billionaire husband, Wissam Al Mana.

The “No Sleep” singer can count on getting little of that in a few months. The baby news comes just days before Mothers’ Day.

“We’re in the second leg of the tour and there actually has been a sudden change,” Jackson said in a video message posted online last month.

“I thought it was important that you be the first to know. My husband and I are planning our family, so I’m going to have to delay the tour.”

Jackson secretly wed Wissam Al Mana in 2012, not confirming the news until early 2013. It was the singer’s third marriage.

“Please, if you could try and understand that it’s important that I do this now,” Jackson said.

“I have to rest up, doctor’s orders. But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can.”

Although there has been no official confirmation from Jackson herself, the tour promoter is offering refunds to fans who purchased tickets or promising to honor them once the tour resumes, according to reports.

Experts say Jackson had a 1% chance of getting pregnant at her age.

Speculation about her pregnancy ranged from her using a previously frozen egg or a donor egg to achieve success. Both procedures would require in vitro fertilization, which often goes hand in hand with lots of rest — a complete conflict with the rigors of a concert tour.

Fans have been understanding.

“Congrats Janet!!!!,” fan Sistah Girl tweeted. “You’re going to be a great mom!!! Take all the time you need queen!”

“It all makes sense,” tweeted another fan, Valley Girl Nay. “Damn Baby, the wait for the video & an interview. This is worth the wait. Congrats to the Al Mana's.”

Jackson turns 50 on May 16. Her husband is 41.

A video for the song is expected soon. She has already released a lyric video.

“It's all about love,” she sings in the new track. “And how we ain't gon' never let words get in the way.”
