The pop superstar announced Thursday that her new album has an official title — "Unbreakable" — and an Oct. 2 release date.
Fans have eagerly awaited the “No Sleeep” singer's first studio album in seven years, and wondered if the album’s name would be the same as her current world tour.
Jackson’s longtime producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis collaborated with her on “Unbreakable,” and said in a statement that "it’s wonderful to be creating again with Janet."
“From songwriting, producing, arranging, singing, dancing, acting, she deftly does it all and truly personifies the word artist.
“‘Unbreakable’ is a gift to all of her fans who have steadfastly stood by her,” they added. “If you want to know what’s on her mind you only have to listen.”
The 49-year-old star launched the Unbreakable World Tour earlier this week in Vancouver.
During the show, she debuted her new track "Burnitup!" with Missy Elliot and and paid tribute to her late brother Michael Jackson.
