Ja Rule Supports Ashanti At Her Fashion Launch

Ja Rule is always there when Ashanti calls.

The rapper, 42, showed up at the launch party for the R&B singer’s fashion collaboration with indie brand Miss Circle on Tuesday night. Ashanti, 37, arrived at 8:30 p.m. while frequent collaborator Ja Rule showed up an hour earlier than the guest of honor, according to an attendee.

Rule also posted videos of Ashanti and friends posing in a photo booth at the event, laughing and calling them “jokers.” Rules’ wife, Aisha Fatima Atkins, was also in attendance.

The two artists are longtime friends and business partners — the duo has recorded at least ten songs together, starting with the hit single, “What’s Luv?” in 2001. In June, inspired by Beyoncé and Jay-Z releasing “Everything is Love,” Ja Rule teased the idea of a joint album. “Iconnic… The Carters… New album is dope!!! @ashanti I think we should do one of these joint albums haha… #fortheculture #iminspired #iconn,” Ja Rule posted on Twitter.

“Listen, me and Rule, it’s so funny because we’ve been talking about that for so long, but I think now he’s like, ‘OK, now it’s time to do it,'” Ashanti told Entertainment Tonight shortly after. “So we’re going to carve out the time and make it happen.”

Not only have they been on tour together, but the duo also joined forces on “The Hamilton Mixtape” for the song “Helpless.” It seems that a musical comeback could be happening sooner than expected.
