Beyond Issa’s prolific work, she is a role model and inspiration to the next generation of creatives through her mentorship programs like ColorCreative, and more recently, Project Greenlight. We are thrilled to honor Issa this year. The news of her PGA win highlights a years-long glow-up for Issa Rae, who put herself on the map with the award-winning web series and 2016 New York Times best-seller book The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl.
