This year’s queen of the summer pop scene played the “Today" show's “Summer Concert” series on Friday.
Iggy Azalea delivered her warm season hits before a crowd of mainly teenage girls in a performance that could best be described as curvaceous.
The Aussie-born rapper moved her hips as much as her lips in the 20 minute slot, grinding her lower body in slow, wide arcs. Azalea’s outfit made the most of her most famous asset. She wore a two piece, skin-tight work-out suit, with white lines outlining her ballooning lower flanks.
Azalea offered three numbers for “Today,” starting with what has become this summer’s most defining song, “Fancy.” Two backup singers took the place of the vocalist on the recording (Charli XCX). The show also featured four slip-hipped dancers, dressed in skirts, for further distinction from the star attraction.
“Fancy” features a killer bass hook, an infectious rap flow, and a lot of cheeky attitude. Azalea’s two other featured songs - “Bounce” and “Work” - likewise put the emphases on the beat and the star’s personality. They’re ideal novelty songs for the gym.
It's funny how you get 1 hit & they call you a Queen! When you're white you're always right!
