Ice-T's grandson, an admitted small-time drug dealer, has been has been indicted in the accidental shooting death of his 19-year-old roommate.
The Cobb County, Ga., jury indicted Elyjah Marrow, 20, on five counts stemming from the June 2014 death of Daryus Johnson in the Marietta apartment they shared, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported.
Marrow claimed a stolen handgun he was holding accidentally went off, striking Johnson in the chest. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Marrow is free on bail as he awaits trial on charges of involuntary manslaughter, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana more than an ounce, theft by receiving stolen property and possession of firearm during commission of a felony reckless conduct.
Police said Marrow admitted to dealing marijuana.
The 57-year-old Ice-T, who reinvented himself as a TV star, was born Tracy Marrow and made his mark as a rapper.
As a young artist, Ice-T pioneered gangsta rap. His 1988 rap album "Power" featured the song "I'm Your Pusher." He created a sensation with the infamous 1992 hit "Cop Killer."
The actor is featured on the E! show "Ice Loves Coco" and has a recurring role on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."
