Ice Cube Saved By Uber

Ice Cube was 90 minutes late for a performance at a marijuana festival — because his car broke down and he had to take an Uber to the show.

The rap legend was scheduled to headline the Chalice Festival in Victorville, Calif., on Saturday.

Sources say that Ice Cube’s team declined the festival’s offer of transportation and that Cube planned to get a ride to the venue with a friend.

“On his way up, the car he was in broke down on I-15, about 45 minutes from the venue,” said an insider. “We sent our guys to pick them up, but about five minutes before we got there they decided to call an Uber.”

Because he was running late, the rapper changed in the car on the way, and pulled up directly to the side of the stage in the Uber.

“It wasn’t like a Suburban, but some Uber driver’s basic minivan,” said the source. “He grabbed the mike and hit the stage. He was 90 minutes late but nailed the show like a total pro.”

The NWA star said onstage, “That’s what you get when you get a ride in this motherf – – ker’s broken down hooptie.”
