How's this for an aftershock?
Prostitutes in the earthquake-ravaged city of Christchurch, New Zealand, are cashing in on the disaster by servicing horny emergency workers arriving from around the globe.
One local hooker, "Candice," told the Christchurch Press that she earned more than $1,000 in a single evening by soliciting workers just outside the damaged city's cordoned-off downtown area.
Among her clients: search and rescue staff, construction workers and foreign police officers.
"There's just lots of men here, lots of men without their wives and they're going to be a bit naughty," she said.
"In three years, I've never made this much before," she told the newspaper. "The foreign ones are the best, they pay the most. They are saying they are stressed out and they need to get some stress relief."
The workers poured into New Zealand's second-largest city after the Feb. 22 quake. Officials believe more than 200 people were killed in the natural disaster.
Another prostitute told the New Zealand paper that the brisk business was providing the cash to rebuild the home that she lost in the 6.3-magnitude quake.
"It's their way of dealing with it," she said of the sex-starved workers. "If they can get some relief, I think there's nothing wrong with that."
