Officials are on the hunt for a band of assassins suspected of killing a top Hamas chief in Dubai.
The hit squad - which is believed to consist of 11 people, including one woman - reportedly used foreign passports to aid in the targeted murder.
According to the Times of London, the assassins used six British, three Irish, one German and one French passport to enter the United Arab Emirates.
"We have no doubts that it was 11 people holding these passports, and we regret that they used the travel documents of friendly countries," said the Dubai chief of police, Dhafi Khalfan.
The BBC reports that, according to the passports, the men carrying British papers were James Leonard Clarke, Stephen Daniel Hodes, Paul John Keeley, Michael Lawrence Barney, Jonathan Lewis Graham and Melvyn Adam Mildiner.
The three Irish passports included the female, Gail Folliard, as well as Kevin Daveron and Evan Dennings.
British and Irish officials report these passports were falsified.
One of the men whose name was used has denied any involvement.
"I am obviously angry, upset and scared - any number of things," Mildiner, a British man who lives in Israel, told Reuters.
"I don't know how this happened or who chose my name or why," he said, "but hopefully we'll find out soon."
Hamas has accused Mossad of carrying out the execution, and officials suspect the group was sponsored by a foreign government.
"We do not rule out the involvement of Mossad," Khalfan said, "but when we arrest those suspects we will know who masterminded it."
Interpol has been given information about the crime, he said, and arrest warrants for the 11 suspects are expected.
The band is believed to have carried out the assassination of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in January, while he was allegedly in Dubai to facilitate a shipment of weapons into Gaza.
Members of the suspected hit squad were captured on surveillance footage using wigs and beards to disguise themselves.
Mabhouh's body was discovered in his hotel room, after he was reportedly suffocated and electrocuted.
Two Palestinians suspected of helping the assassins have been arrested, officials said.
The Hamas chief was a founding member of the Izzedine al-Qassam Brigades, and was believed to have been behind the kidnapping and death of two Israeli soldiers in 1989.
