Kanye West will indeed return to the MTV Video Music Awards stage a year after interrupting Taylor Swift's acceptance speech. The rapper has been announced as a performer at this year's VMAs, along with Drake and Florence + the Machine.
Kanye West to Perform at MTV VMAs?
Nicki Minaj, Trey Songz, Selena Gomez and Ne-Yo have also been confirmed as presenters at this year's ceremony, set to air Sept. 12 on MTV. More performers and presenters will be announced at a later date.
After West unveiled his 90-second video "painting" for new single "Power" on MTV last Thursday (Aug. 5), news broke yesterday (Aug. 10) about his scheduled set at the ceremony. While West will perform for the first time since 2008, Drake and Florence + the Machine will make their debuts on the VMA stage. Drake's "Find Your Love" is nominated for Best Male Video, while Florence Welch's group is up for four moonmen, including Video of the Year, for "Dog Days Are Over."
West's as-yet-untitled album is slated for a Nov. 16 release.
