Despite reports claiming Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez got engaged over the holidays, rumors are now swirling that the Hollywood couple isn’t even set to wed.

Shortly after the Oscar-winning actress was spotted wearing an emerald-and-diamond sparkler by Gurhan on her ring finger last week, a rep for the jewelry company confirmed Martinez had popped the question.

Several media outlets also reported on the couple’s happy news on Wednesday, with both Us Weekly and People citing unnamed sources who confirmed the engagement.

To make matters even more confusing, Kylie Minogue took to Twitter shortly after the news broke to publicly congratulate Martinez, whom she dated for five years before they split in 2007.

However as Berry and Martinez remain mum on the status of their relationship, sources told TMZ that the bauble in question is not an engagement ring. Instead, it is reportedly a symbol of Martinez’s commitment to Berry.

Furthermore, the rep for Gurhan has since backtracked and now claims to not be certain if Berry is even wearing their company’s ring.

"Although Halle is a great fan of Gurhan, we cannot confirm that she is wearing a Gurhan design," the company told People on Friday, failing to explain why they initially confirmed the jewel was an engagement ring.

Whether or not Berry, 46, and Martinez, 45, have taken the next step in their relationship, the couple is still going strong.

"Halle has found her true soul mate in Olivier and it's only a matter of time before they tie the knot," a source close to the two told Star magazine last fall. "She's madly in love and knows she wants to spend the rest of her life with him.

"Olivier has been the rock that Halle has never had in any of her relationships."

The actress and the French actor began dating after working together on the film "Dark Tide" in 2010, but didn’t formally confirm their relationship until later that fall.

Berry has been married twice before. She wed former baseball player David Justice in 1993 and divorced after four years. She then tied the knot with R&B singer Eric Benet in 2001, only to split two years later.She Got A Commitment Ring! What Kind Of Sh!t Is That? Lol!
