Halle Bailey the singer and actress released her debut album Love? Or Something Like It on Friday, October 24, through Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records, and the project is already making waves. In its first full day on Spotify, the album tallied 798,000 streams. The 15-track project blends Bailey’s signature ethereal tone with sleek, cinematic production, setting a distinct mood from start to finish. Fans were quick to notice the range of collaborators featured across the record. Appearances from Chlöe, H.E.R., GloRilla, and Mariah the Scientist highlight Bailey’s versatility, pairing her delicate delivery with a broad mix of styles and voices. Previously released singles like “Angel,” “Because I Love You,” “In Your Hands,” “Braveface,” and “Back and Forth” also appear on the album, each contributing to the cohesive sound she’s been carefully shaping. Behind the boards, Bailey tapped an eclectic mix of producers and songwriters, including RAYE, Sevyn Streeter, BongoByTheWay, D. Phelps, and Freaky Rob. But Bailey herself is credited throughout the tracklist, solidifying her role not just as a performer but also as a songwriter helping steer the project’s vision. For longtime fans of Chlöe x Halle, one of the standout moments comes on “Feel Again,” where the sisters reunite on wax. “I hear my sister on so many songs, I think it’s the way my brain is wired, “When it came to our song ‘Feel Again,’ I was like, ‘I cannot do this song without Chlöe, I need to hear her on this.’” The album has also received attention from one of Bailey’s earliest champions—Beyoncé. Bailey revealed that she played some of the music for her Parkwood mentor, and Queen Bey was especially moved by the reunion track. “I played this one for [Beyoncé] too,” Bailey said. “And she was obsessed with hearing our voices again together.
