Somehow, the legal woes for Gucci Mane continue.
After being sentenced in August to 39 months in prison for a weapons charge, the rapper was sentenced on Monday (September 15) to another three years in prison for an assault, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Gucci, who was born Radric Davis, pleaded guilty to the charge, which stemmed from an incident at an Atlanta nightclub in March of 2013, where he hit an Army staff sergeant on the head with a bottle.
“Rather than accommodating the admiring fan, Davis, for no explicable reason, instead, hit the victim over the head with a vodka bottle and then hurriedly left the club,” District Attorney Paul Howard said in a statement. “The victim sustained a deep laceration to his forehead which required ten stitches.”
The trouble with the law hasn’t stopped Gucci from dropping new music, though. Over the weekend, he released his latest mixtape, The Return of Mr. Perfect.
