Gabrielle Union Says She Won't "Sacrifice Her Relationship" For Acting

As Gabrielle Union prepares to become Dwyane Wade's bride, she's focused on what her priorities are.

In an interview for the February issue of Glamour magazine, the 41-year-old actress dished about what comes first in her life … and it's not her career.

"Over the summer, I reassessed priorities," she said. "I'd always wanted an awesome career with back-to-back projects, but I realized I wasn't willing to sacrifice my relationship for it."

Once upon a time Union's acting was a factor in her splitting from the NBA star in 2013, but after they reconciled her intentions changed.

"When you're debating whether to go backward or forward, you have to look at the original issue," she said.

"(The breakup) was because of distance and scheduling," the star of BET's "Being Mary Jane" added. "I finished filming the show. Then I flew to Vegas right away to start shooting 'Think Like a Man Too.' I couldn't take time off, and I missed some quality togetherness we desperately needed."

Placing the blame on herself for their split, Union made no mention of Wade fathering a child during their break.

On Nov. 10, the 31-year-old Miami Heat player admitted he had a son with Aja Metoyer, 30, a woman he claimed to have known "for many years," according to TMZ.

His third child, Xavier Zechariah Wade, is now the younger brother to the pro athlete's other children from his first marriage to Siohvaughn Wade -- Zaire, 11, and Zion, 6.

"I had a time, a part in our break, in our pain and our hurt, a blessing came out of it in my life, having a son that was born healthy," he said during a press conference Dec. 30, according to a Sun-Sentinel report. "So I'm moving on."

Not so fast. As Wade insists he was on a break from his relationship with Union when his newborn was conceived, the actress' Instagram pics paint a different story.

His son's birthdate indicates Wade had relations with Metoyer sometime in February. But during that time Union continued posting photos online of their seemingly blissful relationship.

In fact, one photo she posted on Feb. 5 shows Wade snuggling with her dog with the caption, "Sasha don't play when it comes to her man … 'Down to ride 'till the very end, it's me and my boyfriend.'"

"Bottom line: If an issue's a deal breaker, it's a deal breaker," she told Glamour. "If your relationship isn't something you're willing to give up and you can compromise, do so."

Union seems to have compromised in a big way as to what a "deal breaker" is in her love affair with Wade, and it doesn't seem to be him impregnating another woman. In fact, his extracurricular activities apparently didn't sway Union from accepting her man of four years' marriage proposal on Dec. 21.

"She said YES!!!" he tweeted at the time.
