A man and a woman who reportedly had their 13-year-old son help them sell drugs from their Florida apartment were arrested Thursday.
Authorities said they had been keeping tabs on Marko Capers, 32, and his wife, Keyanta Capers, 35, since they received a related tip in September, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.
Undercover investigators were able to buy drugs from the couple on multiple occasions, police said. One time, the Capers’ 13-year-old son completed the sale from the family’s home in Sanford.
“We don't believe that the 13-year-old willingly sold the drugs,” sheriff’s office spokeswoman Kim Cannady told Fox 35 Orlando. “He was instructed by his father actually on how to do it, to give a certain person the pills and to take the money.”When deputies searched the apartment on Thursday, they found numerous illegal prescription pills as well as MDMA, the drug more commonly known as “molly.”
Marko and Keyanta Capers were booked on charges of trafficking prescription drugs, drug possession and involving a minor in the sale of drugs.
The teenage boy and three young girls who were also in the apartment have been put in protective custody, according to WFTV.
