FLO RIDA IN THE MACYS THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE!

Flo Rida hails from Miami, but this Thanksgiving he’ll be in a New York state of mind riding the Daily News Big Apple Float.

The 32-year-old hip-hop star will perform on the 30-foot float cruising in the 86th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade surrounded by an inflatable apple and landmarks like the Empire State Building, Chrysler Building and Gotham’s iconic subway stations.

“This is a dream come true,” said Flo Rida. “I remember as a kid getting together with my whole family to watch the Thanksgiving Day parade and thinking about how someday I’d be on a float.”

And the man behind hits like “Whistle,” “Club Can’t Handle Me” and “Good Feeling” noted that the News’ float carried special significance.

“I know I’m from Miami, but I come to New York City a lot,” he said. “It’s very special to ride on the float of New York’s hometown newspaper.”

The feel-good Turkey Day celebration begins at 9 a.m. at 77th St. and Central Park West, where 16 giant balloons, 28 floats and 11 marching bands begin the trip south.

The flotilla will turn east at Columbus Circle — a prime viewing area — and then once again head south at Sixth Ave. to W. 34th St.

The pomp will conclude at Seventh Ave. and W. 34th St.

Plenty of celebs will be on-hand for the annual pageant watched by 50 million viewers at home anxiously awaiting a serving of stuffing.

Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney and the rest of the Fab 5 U.S. Olympic gymnastics team will flaunt their gold medals as 1,600 cheerleaders and dancers bedazzle the crowd.

Comic Jimmy Fallon and The Roots; Whoopi Goldberg; and basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will also join the cavalcade that includes 900 clowns.

Even Santa Claus will be on-hand as a reminder it’s time to consider who has been naughty and nice.

Musical performers will include Carly Rae Jepsen, The Wanted, Neon Trees and, for the old-timers, “American Pie” singer Don McLean.

They’ll all be bringing positive vibes for Thanksgiving.

“I have so many good memories of my family getting together for a feast,” Flo Rida said. “Oh man, we had so many turkeys. We had a fried turkey, a stuffed turkey, my sister’s turkey. Everyone would cook a turkey. It was like a competition.”

The “Today” show’s Matt Lauer, Al Roker and Savannah Guthrie will anchor the three-hour broadcast on NBC.

But the balloons slowly navigating midtown will be the stars of the show, as always.

This year will feature plenty of familiar larger-than-life characters, as well as newer creations sure to fill the dreams of youngsters in the crowd of 3.5 million.

Kermit the Frog, Sonic the Hedgehog, the Pillsbury Doughboy, Buzz Lightyear and Ronald McDonald are some of the standbys that will once again take to the sky.

Newcomers include The Elf on the Shelf; Hello Kitty; and Papa Smurf.

And taking it all in from his prime spot will be Flo Rida.

The last time the star — whose real name is Tramar Dillard — participated in a parade was the Martin Luther King Day march at his Carol City, Fla., elementary school.

“Back then, we didn’t have to worry about the cold,” he said.

Fortunately, the weather is just right for the extravaganza — a far cry from last year when high winds raised concerns of parade organizers.

The forecast calls for a high of 55 — a perfect temperature to ring in the holiday season.

“This time I’m just going to have to wear more layers. Probably not a fur coat, but I’ll be outside for awhile, so I have to stay warm,” Flo Rida said.

The star added a bit of early holiday cheer for his fans who will watch him on the Daily News float.

“Work hard. Have faith in yourself. Feel the love. I wish you the best for the holiday season. God bless,” he said.
