Fivio Foreign Stepping Away From Drill For A Shift Into Gospel Music

Fivio Foreign has revealed that he's decided to step away from making Brooklyn drill in exchange for a shift into gospel music. Speaking to The Shade Room Live, the Brooklyn rapper and producer discussed his transition into gospel, along with plotting collaborations with Christian artists Kirk Franklin and Mary Mary. "Sometimes in life I feel like you got to listen to that voice that's talking to you," Fivio said of his decision in the clip below. "You got to actually do something for God. I mean, you've got to actually put in a little pain for God. He added that he "never even thought twice" and "didn’t really care" about what fans would think of his genre change, adding that he noticed his former fans were "growing out" of his earlier, considerably "violent" music. Elsewhere in the interview, Fivio said that while he doesn’t feel like he’s "doing gospel music," he still classifies it as such. "I'm just Fivi and I’m just trying to praise God through my music and not worship the devil through my music, push a positive image and change, you know, hopefully I get a blessing from God," he said. Fivio performed his recent gospel single, "Chasin'," with The Fire Choir during Harlem Week presented by 94.7 The Block.
