Fisherman Trying To Catch A Marlin Reels In $2.5 Million Worth Of Coke

It was quite the catch.

Five Florida fishermen used to reeling in huge marlin instead found themselves hauling in $2.5million worth of cocaine.

The group were left stunned on Wednesday after stumbling across 55-pounds of the drug floating in waters three miles off the coast of Destin.

The cocaine was handed over to the Okaloosa County Multi-Agency Drug Task Force.

Investigators say the drug — wrapped in small packages stamped with "00" — could have come from Venezuela because of certain words also written alongside.

"This is definitely not a source city for that quantity of narcotics," Sheriff Larry Ashley told FoxNews.com.

Revealing it was "not uncommon" for them to wash ashore in Florida, he said floating bales of marijuana had previously been found on local beaches.
