One-eyed rap star Fetty Wap got a no-jail, sweetheart deal on his felony drunk driving arrest in Brooklyn last November, instead pleading guilty to a lesser, misdemeanor charge of reckless endangerment.
Under a deal struck Thursday in Brooklyn Criminal Court, Fetty will have to take a state Impaired Driving Program course, and he’ll lose his license for 90 days. The misdemeanor will also remain on his record.
But Fetty, 26, whose given name is Willie Maxwell, had originally faced as much as seven years prison on his original charges of drunk and reckless driving, speeding and felony reckless endangerment.
Leaving court, he posed for selfies with star-struck passersby, but covered his face with his hoodie when news photographers showed up.
Cops had said last November that they pulled his 2015 Mercedes over for speeding on the Gowanus Parkway in Sunset Park. He was going more than 100 miles per hour, and blew a .09 on his Breathalyzer test — just over the legal limit of .08, they alleged.
Released after his arrest, he told reporters he never put other drivers at risk that night, because his joy ride happened at 1 a.m. on a Friday when there “wasn’t no cars” on the Gowanus.
“I would never put people in danger,” he insisted.
Fetty is best known for his hits “Trap Queen” and “679.”
