Fake Bomb Planted Outside Of Jay Z's 40/40 Club

A would-be prankster placed what appeared to be a makeshift explosive into a phone booth outside Jay Z’s 40/40 Club in the Flatiron District Tuesday, cops said.

Surveillance video recovered by police show a man in a gray jacket and white baseball cap secure his bizarre creation inside the phone booth at Fifth Ave. and W. 25th St. at about 3 a.m.

Cops weren’t called to the scene until about 7 a.m.

Members of the NYPD Bombs Squad X-rayed the phone booth, finding nothing inside that could explode. They then broke up the device with a controlled blast of air, officials said.

Investigators said the device wasn’t dangerous, but are trying to determine if its creator placed it in the phone booth to scare patrons at the hip-hop star’s restaurant.

A 40/40 Club employee said the bomb "had nothing to do" with the restaurant.
