Faith Evans Being Sued Over The Notorious B.I.G.’s Music Catalog

The latest instance of this ongoing conflict is The Notorious B.I.G., whose catalog was sold earlier this year for $100 million to Primary Wave; part of the funds have allegedly been hoarded by Faith Evans court documents detailing that the estate of the late Voletta Wallace, Biggie’s mother, is suing the 52-year-old singer for allegedly keeping the trust’s portion of the huge catalog sale. The lawsuit claims that Evans completely cut Wallace’s estate out of both the money and the business side of all operations after Biggie’s mom passed away in February; Wallace’s death made Evans the sole manager of the estate. Wayne Barrow, the trust manager says that Evans has been giving the money out to the late Brooklyn rapper’s children Ty’anna, CJ, in addition to pocketing some of it for herself. However, the estate has allegedly received none of the funds. He even said that she has not been communicative and has been moving as if the trust does not even exist.“Ms. Evans’s actions are particularly troubling given that, unlike Mr. Barrow, she has never previously been involved in the LLC’s management,” the court documents state. Barrow is asking the court to force Evans to hand over the trust’s share of the catalog sale, as it was supposed to go to the Christopher Wallace Memorial Foundation. He also hopes that she will be removed from her position as sole manager of the estate and allow him to take over.
