Eminem Stalker Convicted Of First-Degree Home Invasion And Aggravated Stalking

A man has been convicted of first-degree home invasion after being spotted on the property of Eminem. Matthew David Hughes, 32, was found guilty on counts of first-degree home invasion and aggravated stalking. He was taken into custody last August, days after trespassing at the rapper’s residence. Hughes remained behind bars since his August arrest, unable to post the $500,000 bond set by the judge. In December 2024, he was ordered to have no contact with the rapper. Eminem testified at the trial, where the jury deliberated for 30 minutes before it returned the guilty verdict the incident was not Hughes’ first time invading the Detroit rapper’s personal space. In 2020, Hughes managed to break into the home Eminem described being awakened by the man standing behind him. During this incident, Eminem claimed that Hughes said he was there to kill him. For that, Hughes struck a plea deal and was sentenced in September 2021 to five years’ probation Hughes violated the terms of his probation and was sent to prison. He was released in May 2024, according to the outlet. Hughes was also arrested in 2019 for breaking into one of Eminem’s former homes and claimed that he was “looking for his brother Marshall.” He also broke into a guest home on the property and served a 90-day prison term after being convicted of breaking and entering
