Eminem's Detroit childhood home was damaged in a fire on Thursday.
Firefighters responded to a conflagration in the two-story bungalow, located south of the city's notorious 8 mile road, at 6:20 pm on Thursday evening, the Detroit Free Press reports.
Responders have not determined a cause for the blaze, which badly damaged the upper floor of the abandoned home.
"Just went inside and everything was burnt down; two days ago, it was fine," fan Matt Toporek told the newspaper. "I don't know who does this, but this is a Detroit legend."
The home, which Eminem's mother Deborah Mathers acquired in 1987, was featured on the cover of the rapper's release "The Marshall Mathers LP."
The property had changed hand many times since then before being foreclosed upon in 2001. It was most recently owned by the Michigan Land Bank.
Real estate website Zillow listed the house's worth as $32,885.
