IN THE STREETS & ON THE WEB

The reactions are pouring in following the release of Eminem's new 11-minute freestyle "Kick Off," and while some loyal fans are standing by the rapper, others are asking him to put the mic down.

"Eminem is a legend, one of the greatest rappers ever, one of the most influential, and at his prime he was elite," one fan tweeted. "But I think it’s time for him to put down the mic... I don’t see the reason for him to keep dropping albums and hurting his discography so much. Just my take."

In the 11-minute clip, Em name drops many celebrities, including Ariana Grande in a reference to the Manchester bombing. He says the freestyle was inspired by the new rap battle movie Bodied.

Meanwhile, another fan praised Eminem's talent for writing hit songs, but pointed out that there's a disconnect with his new music.

"Eminem is far too talented for his subject matter to still be what it is at 46 years old. That’s where the disconnect is. His fanbase grew up, he didn’t," the fan tweeted.

"Kick Off" follows Eminem's recent diss album, Kamikaze, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in September.
