Give that dog a bone!
The keen nose of a Customs and Border Protection dog at Kennedy Airport sniffed out more than $1.4 million worth of heroin and cocaine on a passenger who had just arrived on a flight from Santo Domingo last week, authorities said.
Bernardo Garcia was busted trying to smuggle the narcotics last Saturday when Dex, a Belgian Malinois, signaled to Customs andBorder Patrol agents that his schnoz had picked up a scent, authorities said.
Several cooking pots and shoes "with unusually thick soles" raised eyebrows for some officers, who soon found numerous packages of powder stashed inside, authorities said. The substances later tested positive for both heroin and cocaine.
