Are Drake's acting chops strong enough to take on roles outside of a wheelchair? The former Degrassi superstar seems to think so. During an interview with VH1 News at the Sundance Film Festival, Drake confessed that his on-screen talents are beyond the typical basketball player and rapper-based scripts he's been receiving over the past couple of years.
The Toronto rapper admits to one dream role that he is secretly studying for on his own-time.
“I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama's life soon because I could play him,” Drake said. “That's the goal. I watch all the addresses. Anytime I see him on TV, I don't change the channel, I definitely pay attention and listen to the inflections of his voice. If you ask anyone who knows me, I'm pretty good at impressions.”
That's quite a big role to take on, but his goal isn't all egotistical. “I want to do something great,” he said. “I want to do something for my culture: the younger people who are still in tune with everything going on. I'm actually writing with my friends right now,” Drake stated.
Can wheelchair Jimmy transform into who may be the most dignified Black man in the history of the United States?
