Drake's Album "Views" Tops Billboard 200 For 5th Consecutive Week

Drake dropped his fourth studio album, Views, on April 29 of this year, and since then, an album not named Views has yet to occupy the top spot on the Billboard 200.

Today, Views is the #1 album in the country for a fifth consecutive week, the longest streak of Drake’s career. Since its first week on the e-shelves, the set has been certified platinum by the RIAA, and its continued to rack up significant sales results, specifically through streaming, in the month-and-change that it’s been out.

This week, the 20-track offering brought in 152,000 in equivalent sales units, 37,000 of which were from traditional sales. A ways behind Drizzy was Black, the new album from Dierks Bentley, which slid in at #2 with 102,000 equivalent units.

If Drizzy is to keep up this torrid pace, he’ll have to hold off Paul Simon, whose new album, Stranger to Stranger, the singer/songwriter’s 12th solo album. ChartNews has StS moving roughly between 58,000 and 63,000 equivalent units, and considering the fact that Views is consistently hitting 100,000-plus totals, Drake might have his sixth consecutive week at #1 already sewn up.
