Drake Has The First Million-Selling Album Of 2015

If you're reading this, be aware that Drake has the first million-selling album of the year.

The Canadian rapper's "If You're Reading This It's Too Late" album has sold 1.007 million copies since its Feb. 12 release, reports Billboard.

The Young Money/Cash Money/Republic Records release debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and has been going strong ever since.

"Platinum off the tape. Views up next," the 28-year-old rapper captioned a photo of the album cover on Instagram Monday. "Thank you once again."

Drake's record rivals Taylor Swift's "1989" album, which has sold 1.463 million copies in 2015, but was released in 2014 with a grand total of 5.124 million.

But it's all in good musical competition with Swifty. On the other hand, Drake's hip hop rival Meek Mill has basically been silenced by the platinum-selling rapper after their ongoing beef, stemming from the Philly-bred emcee's relationship with Nicki Minaj.

To close out the OVO Fest in Toronto on Aug. 3, Drake performed his two diss tracks about Meek, "Back to Back" and "Charged Up," to a crowd of thousands as a series of social media memes aimed at the 28-year-old rapper played on the giant screens behind him.

Their lyrical battle only proved why Drake has not one but four million-selling albums, which also includes 2013's "Nothing Was the Same" as well as "Take Care" and "Thank Me Later," both released in 2010.
