Drake is calling out Macy’s and Wallgreens for using “YOLO,” which stands for “you only live once,” on their products, Billboard can confirm.
The rapper, who made “YOLO” popular with the single above, called “The Motto,” a collaboration with Lil Wayne and Tyga, posted photos of the “offending” products and a veiled threat that the two stores should pay him for the rights to use “YOLO.”
He’s deleted the tweets ever since.
“Walgreens....you gotta either chill or cut the cheque,” Drake wrote in the caption to a photo of fitted caps with “YOLO.”
“Macy's... same goes for you,” he added in the caption to another photo, of a tee with Snoopy and Charlie Brown on it.
Technically though, Drake does not own the rights to “YOLO,” which would explain why everyone is talking about his tweets right now.
