Drake Announces Release Date For ‘Views From The 6’

The wait for Drake's highly anticipated next album is almost over.

The hip-hop superstar finally announced that "Views From the 6" will drop at the end of April — answering the prayers of rap fans who have been clamoring for its release for months.

"I'm happy to let you know that 'Views' is dropping April 29," Drake revealed Saturday at the beginning of his Beats 1 radio show, "OVO Sound Radio."

"It's something that I've been working really, really hard on," he added, according to USA Today.

The "Hotline Bling" rapper teased in January that he was planning on releasing his fourth studio album sometime in April, though he failed to share an official date.

Then in March, the rapper hinted to the crowd at his surprise South by Southwest concert in Austin that the album was mere weeks away.

"Views From the 6 coming in how many weeks, I hope you enjoy that s---," he said onstage, before implying that he'd be touring in cities such as Austin, Dallas and Houston after the album dropped.

Then last week, New York Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. only added to the speculation that the long-awaited album was near when he revealed he was staying at Drake's home while the rapper worked on the set list.

"Weird enough, I'm actually staying at his place right now while he finishes the album," Beckham told MMA icon Ronda Rousey in a video for DraftKings. "He needs to chill out with that house he's got out there, it's just too much going on."

Drake released his popular song "Sweet 16" — the first single from the "Views From the 6" — in January, and he debuted a pair of new songs from the album last week.

In Saturday's announcement, the rapper promised there were even more hits.

"I promise you that you'll have your full share of Drake music for the summer and for the year and forever," the rapper said of his new album.

"Views From the 6" is expected to be initially released exclusively on Apple Music and iTunes.
