Ex-patient Shirley Dieu claims TV self-help guru Dr. Phil McGraw held her captive inside his production office and groped her breast in a lawsuit filed Wednesday in L.A. County Superior Court, TMZ.com reports. Dr. Phil denies these claims.
"All of Shirley Rae Dieu’s claims are without merit," according to a statement from the media relations department at the "Dr. Phil Show."
"Dr. Phil is never alone in the house with any of these guests and all of his interactions are captured on video and/or audio tape."
Dieu's lawsuit also alleges that Dieu was forced to "be in the same room with a completely naked live man while he exposed his entire naked body, genitals and all," according to TMZ.com.
Dieu says she sought therapy from the TV self-help guru in 2007, but instead was subjected to McGraw's abuse and attempts to "brainwash" her.
After trying to flee the facility, she reportedly claims she "was blocked by the staff to prevent her from leaving."
In addition to the abuse and imprisonment claims, the lawsuit also takes issue with McGraw's accreditation in the State of California.
