DR. KILDARE TELLS GAY ACTORS TO STAY IN THE CLOSET!

Openly gay actor Richard Chamberlain says it's better to stay in the closet.

The 76-year-old star who first came to prominence in "Dr. Kildare" in the 1960s said being typecast as a gay actor can hurt a Hollywood superstar's chances of landing big roles.

"I wouldn't advise a gay leading man-type actor to come out," Chamberlain told The Advocate, a gay-oriented magazine. "It's still dangerous for an actor to talk about that."

Chamberlain, who waited until 2003 to come out in his memoirs, said homophobia is still rampant and gay actors may find themselves limited to bit parts.

"Don't pretend that we're suddenly all wonderfully, blissfully accepted," he said.

FYI! DID HE SEE BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN?
