Dr. Dre doesn't want an upcoming biopic giving him a bad rap.
The hip-hop mogul is threatening a lawsuit against Sony if the studio's new made-for-TV movie, "Surviving Compton: Dre Suge & Michel'le," portrays him as a woman beater, TMZ reports.
Members of the hit-making rapper and producer's legal team reportedly dispatched a cease and desist letter to the company to issue the warning.
The forthcoming film reportedly shows the former N.W.A. standout turning very violent toward Michel'le, whom he dated for six years three decades ago and has a son with.
In the movie, Dre's character pulls on the R&B songstress' hair, hits her in the face and pulls out a gun on her, according to TMZ.
Dre's team argues in the letter, however, that he never assaulted Michel'le and states that she never filed a police report against him or received medical attention during their relationship.
Last year's blockbuster biopic "Straight Outta Compton" — which Dre helped produce — received backlash for not covering the artist's alleged abuse toward women such as Michel'le or former hip-hop reporter Dee Barnes.
Dre, 51, issued a statement at the time apologizing for past actions without specifically addressing any incidents.
"I apologize to the women I've hurt," he told The New York Times last year. "I deeply regret what I did and know that it has forever impacted all of our lives."
Michel'le, meanwhile, opened up about the alleged abuse, as well as her history of substance abuse, in an interview with The Huffington Post last week.
"When you're living in it, you can't see it. But I couldn't believe that I was really living like that," she told the website. "And it really resonated with me. Never did I wake up and ask Dre, 'Why did you hit me?'"
Dre's legal team also issued a warning to Michel'le, according to TMZ.
"Surviving Compton" premieres on Lifetime on Oct. 15. Actress Rhyon Nicole Brown stars as Michel'le in the film, while actor Curtis Hamilton plays Dre.
