DMX Allowed To Travel Under Supervision Of Sober Coach

Accused tax-evading rapper DMX can travel to Atlanta to shoot a made-for-TV movie, a Manhattan judge ruled Friday.

The rapper, born Earl Simmons, will be allowed to go to Atlanta for three days starting Monday under the condition he is accompanied by a substance-abuse monitor, said federal Judge Jed Rakoff.

Days earlier, the jurist had turned down the rapper’s bid to travel for five gigs — including for an appearance on the hip-hop version of “Hollywood Squares” — saying Simmons hadn’t given him enough notice and because of concern that the travel would interfere with his substance-abuse programs.

Simmons, 46, had been put on home confinement and forced to wear an ankle bracelet after he reportedly failed drug tests for cocaine and pot.
