DJ Khaled Claims His Set Was Sabotaged At 2017 EDC In Las Vegas

The perpetually jovial DJ Khaled isn’t happy. This past weekend, the irrepressible DJ was faced with loud boos from a raucous crowd as he performed at the 2017 EDC in Las Vegas. Afterwards, he claimed his entire set was sabotaged.

The first claim Khaled made about his EDC set was that his performance was cut short. In an Instagram post including a video of the EDC crowd chanting his name, Khaled details some of his ordeal. “They cut my time short and they had me back stage for a hour and half and the sound kept breaking,” wrote Khaled, whose Grateful album—which will include features from Drake, Rihanna, Bryson Tiller, Chance The Rapper and more— is set to drop on June 23.

He continued, “When I heard my fans and I said I’m go out even if the sound cuts off and even if they cut my time short … I’m here for my fans even if the sound man and promoter don’t have there stuff together I forgive thoe love is the key!!! MY FANS CAME OUT ! SO I CAME OUT !! NO MATTER WHAT! BLESS UP!! #GRATEFUL #JUNE23RD.”
In a second Instagram post addressing the EDC situation, we see Khaled play 2Pac and Dr. Dre’s “California Love” after talking to the DJ behind him, working to command the crowd as the West Coast classic plays. The caption for the video takes his initial claim a step further, with the DJ writing that his set was actually sabotaged.

“They Tried to sabotage my sound so many times THEY couldnot get the sound right on my set,” Khaled wrote. “And i still stood on stage wit no sound and when they got the sound to work they want cut my set short but I still rep for my people anyone else would walk off stage .. i knew my California and Vegas fans was in the building .. THEY DONT WANT US TO WIN SO WE WIN MORE FOR THERE HEAD TOP!!! It’s all luv thoe .. love is the key.. I forgive them … love is always the answer !”

Whether it was a deliberate sabotage or simply a series of very unfortunate miscommunications remains to be seen. Maybe we’ll learn more in the near future.
