DJ Erick Morillo Arrested In Miami Beach For Sexual Battery

International DJ Erick Morillo has been arrested for the sexual battery of a woman in Miami Beach, with a rape kit testing positive for his DNA.

According to the arrest report from the Miami Beach Police Department, the accuser went to Morillo’s home with another woman after DJ’ing a party in December.

The woman told detectives that New York-born Morillo “made several advances towards her, some sexual in nature,” while they were in the pool, “but she refused all of his attempts.” He “ultimately apologized” for his behavior and so she stayed at his residence.

According to the report, the accuser, who says she had alcoholic beverages with Morillo, went to sleep in another room and reported “waking up nude on the bed, with Mr. Morillo standing on the side of the bed, also nude.” The woman claims she then had “flashes” of Morillo performing a sex act on her and felt “post-sex pain.” The woman also alleged she recalled him “penetrating” her.

According to the report, the woman called 911 after leaving his house. Police came, searched the residence and took DNA specimens.

A rape kit has since come back positive for Morillo’s DNA. However, the DJ — who is famed for his work in dance music, the international club circuit, and the hit “I Like To Move It” — strongly denies the allegations of rape and sexual battery.

A lawyer for Morillo, 49, tells us, “Mr. Morillo’s arrest is based on an incident that occurred back on December 7, 2019. Since then, Mr. Morillo has fully cooperated with the police. It is important the public understands that the police report contains mere allegations and Mr. Morillo is presumed innocent.

“There is more to the story than what is in the initial police report, and I look forward to sharing this evidence as I defend Mr. Morillo in court. Our system of justice requires that an accused is treated fairly and with due process. Mr. Morillo will be exercising all of his constitutional rights and I am confident when all of the evidence is presented in this case, justice will be served, and Mr. Morillo will be vindicated.”
