A Bronx beat cop who betrayed his badge and his long-time friend were busted Friday for their roles in a large-scale cocaine-peddling ring, the feds said.
Juan Acosta, a nine-year NYPD veteran, allegedly used a police car to rob a drug dealer of hundreds of thousands of dollars in mid-2005, authorities charged.
The 34-year-old cop, assigned to the 43rd Precinct in the Bronx, also delivered what he thought was 10 kilos of cocaine after boasting his NYPD ties would keep him clear of law enforcement, officials said.
Authorities said Acosta was paid $15,000 for his illegal courier work just two months ago.
His pal, Yorick Corniel-Perez, was arrested and ordered held without bail after an appearance Friday in Manhattan Federal Court.
The two allegedly worked as part of the cocaine operation for the last four years. Both face life in prison if convicted in the cocaine distribution conspiracy.
Acosta was due in court later Friday.
