Sean “Diddy” Combs is ready for his new life as a single father.
In the wake of Kim Porter‘s death, the rap mogul, 49, knows his only option is to step up as a parent.
Diddy shared a few videos (via Shade Room) of his new life on his Instagram story on Monday.
“Today the journey begins,” the exhausted father of four said in the first clip. “Thank you for all your prayers and support. I am now part of the 6 a.m crew. This is mommy/daddy, daddy/mommy checking in.”
He continued, “Yeah, so this daddy/mommy thing … it’s beautiful. I love it. You just have to get up early in the morning, like real early. Like early.”
Diddy also said he knows what he is doing is not unusual and paid his respect to single parents who’ve been doing it all for years.
“When you hear me say ‘daddy/mommy,’ all my single mothers, they know what that is. Even some single fathers,” he said. “Gotta step up and play both roles. The mothers who do it all the time, shout out.”
The mogul also made clear that he’s more than ready for the new challenge, writing, “New life NEW RESPONSIBILITIES. KIM I GOT THIS. Like you taught me!”
Porter, who was involved in an on-and-off relationship with Diddy for over a decade, died suddenly in November. She was just 46.
The couple had three children — Jessie James, D’Lila, and Christian — together. Porter also had a son, Quincy, from her relationship with singer Al B. Sure. Diddy adopted Quincy.
He also has two children, Justin Dior and Chance, from other relationships.
