DID BIG SEAN DISS DRAKE & LUDACRIS ON RWT?

It’s no secret that Big Sean, Drake and Ludacris all sneak dissed each other in the past for using the same flow as one another. All three artists even talked about the flow and who created it in interviews and on wax. A few years ago Big Sean dubbed it the “Supa Dupa Flow” and took credit for it, and Drake also gave him credit for it. Drake said that all credit goes to Big Sean for the flow calling it “hashtag rap”. It seemed like there was no beef after that. Until Drake mentioned who he heard use the flow the worst, Ludacris on “My Chick Bad” and Big Sean sort of agreed to Drake‘s claim that Luda used the flow the worst in a later interview.

“I don’t want to sound cocky, but the best way it’s been used was on ‘Forever.’ Those lines just all individually make so much sense. They’re all punchlines. Then a bunch of rappers started doing it and using the most terrible references in the world. I don t want to offend somebody. I hate that rappers picked that flow up. I wish they had left that for people that know how to use it. [They go like] ‘It’s a parade! Macy’s!’”

Big Sean‘s response:

“With the Super Duper flow, I created that one word rhyme style. Drake really made it more popular, but Drake gave me the credit and was like ‘I really got that from Big Sean…’ I think some artists just did it so wack man. Every time I say names I get in trouble and it’s like I’m dissing, but some people used it wack. If [Drake] said Ludacris used it wack, hey… Don’t get it wrong I’m not trying to diss Ludacris or nothing. He’s a great MC. But even though that style got so overused, there was a lot of people who did it great and there was a lot of people who didn’t do it so great. People always ask me ‘Was you mad that people took that style from you?’ I’m like, ‘Nah, that shows me how far I can go as an artist.’ I feel like I changed Hip-Hop.”

Later on a mixtape, Ludacris sent shots in Drake and Big Sean‘s direction giving them a “History Lesson“, claiming that others used the flows before them, with pretty good proof.

Now here we are a year or so later, and just when it seemed like everything was done with and we barely got any responses to Ludacris‘ diss raps, Big Sean is taking non direct shots at people using his flow again.

On Big Sean‘s “RWT (Roll Weed Time)” it seems as if Drake is getting dissed for singing, and Ludacris is being dissed for copying the flow Sean uses. On “RWT” from his Detroit mixtape Big Sean spits:

“I made a mill before 25 and man I ain’t even “NO LIE”, b*tch I ain’t saying that to brag neither, I’m saying that to inspire / I’m like damn boy, f*ck you saying, boy? Hatin’ on me knowing that you is a fan boy. / When I’m around you call me cuz, like we fam, boy? Rappin’ like me let’s me know that I’m the man, boy”

Those lines are definitely aimed in someone’s direction.

By now I’m sure you all heard 2 Chainz‘ Drake featured hit “No Lie” and have it’s chorus where Drake sings about people wanting to see a million dollars, before dying glued to your brain. Big Sean‘s use of the song’s title in “RWT” sure seems like he really wanted to make key words of that line, does it not? By Big Sean saying “I made a mill before 25 and man I ain’t even “No Lie”, is he saying he didn’t have to sing like Drake does on the chorus of “No Lie” to earn millions? That’s what it seems like to me.

That’s not the only lines thrown in no specific direction on Big Sean‘s “RWT”. Big Sean also raps: “I’m like damn boy, f*ck you saying, boy? Hatin’ on me knowing that you is a fan boy. / When I’m around you call me cuz, like we fam, boy? Rappin’ like me let’s me know that I’m the man, boy”. While those lines could still be aimed at Drake, or whoever, I’m[..]uming they could even be aimed toward Ludacris for his “History Lesson“. But hey, I could be reaching.

Why would Big Sean diss Drake? That’s a good question. Around the release of Drake‘s album Take Care, many speculated that Drake dissed Big Sean on “Over My Dead Body”, referencing lines from Big Sean‘s track “I Do It” and repeatedly saying Sean‘s catchphrase “boy”. On “Over My Dead Body” Drake raps:

“And f*ck you to the ni***as that think it’s their time / Yeah, don’t make me take your life apart boy, You and whoever the f*ck gave you your start boy / Oh, you wanna be a muthaf*ckin’ funny guy? / Don’t make me break your Kevin Hart boy”

While that’s a huge reach, it somewhat makes sense. Big Sean could even just be mad at people who use that flow in general. Who knows. One things for certain, there is nothing worse than rap disses that aren’t direct.
