He couldn’t worm his way out of this bust!
Southern California cops arrested former NBA badboy Dennis Rodman for alleged drunken driving, forcing him into an overnight stay behind bars, authorities said Sunday.
Rodman, 56, was pulled over in the 4500 block of West Coast Highway in Newport Beach at 11 p.m. Saturday for unspecified vehicle code violations, city police Lt. Rachel Johnson said.
He failed a field sobriety test and consented to a breathalyzer exam, where he blew a blood-alcohol level greater than the legal limit of .08, according to Johnson.
Rodman was taken to the city jail booked for alleged DUI before where he was released without bail at 6:15 a.m.
The Hall of Fame forward, nicknamed “The Worm,” played in 14 NBA seasons – most notably for the Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls, where he won five NBA titles.
“Dennis is taking this seriously and will take positive steps to address his personal issues,” Rodman’s lawyer, Paul Meyer, said. “He appreciates the professionalism of the Newport Beach Police Department.”
In 2000, the 6-foot-7 Rodman pleaded guilty to misdemeanor drunken driving and driving without a California license.
In recent years, Rodman has been better known as the American bestie of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.
The Worm has made multiple trips to the Hermit Kingdom to visit Kim. The brutal ruler who loves basketball.
